Friday Folder Letters |

Friday, September 9, 2011 Hello Parents! Welcome to fifth grade and your child’s “Friday Folder!” Each week your child will take this folder home the last day of the week and bring it back to school the first day of the week. It will be filled with his/her corrected assignments from the week and other important information. It will also include a letter from me highlighting classroom and school information. After you have looked through the papers with your child, simply remove them from the folder, sign the folder, and have your child return it to school the next school day. I strongly encourage you to use the comments section in the folder to write encouraging notes to your child. You may also use it to communicate with me if you wish. :) I enjoyed seeing
several of you at Parent Orientation last week! It was nice to meet
you and/or see you again. Thank you so much for coming. I look forward
to seeing you again at our Washington Street Fall Fest on October 18. I guess that about does it for this week! Again, I thank you for working with me to encourage and support your child’s education! Enjoy the weekend!

Here are a few extra quick notes: 1) If you send lunch money to school with your child, please put it in a sealed envelope with his/her full name on it. There will be a drop box in the office. 2) Your child’s first Scholastic Book Orders were sent home today. Since school started after Labor Day, I’m sending both September and October orders at the same time. Both are due next Thursday, September 15. If you write a check for an order, please make it payable to Arrow Book Club. 3) We briefly discussed the 10th Anniversary of the Sept. 11th attacks in 2001. With all of the media coverage, I wanted to get some facts and reassurances out to your kids before they just saw it on TV or heard about it from peers. Please take some time to discuss it with them as well. Thanks to those of you who continue to fight for and defend our liberties. You are true heroes.
