Dear Parents,

It’s been another exciting week in LoomisLand! We’ve celebrated being drug-free with our annual Red Ribbon Week. Be sure to ask your child about each day’s activities. We also had a great time with our swimming unit.

Please remember that your child’s schedule next week will be a bit different due to P/T Conferences. Monday and Tuesday are regular full days, but Wednesday is a half day for kids. They do not have school on Thursday or Friday at all. Also, I do welcome your child at conferences, so if it’s okay with you, I’d love to have him/her attend. :)

Just as a reminder, your child’s Accelerated Reader deadline is Friday, November 11. The first trimester ends about a week after that, and report cards will be sent home the following week. Thank you for continuing to encourage your child with his/her progress in Accelerated Reader and in the rest of the curriculum. What a difference it makes! Keep up the good work!

On Monday, October 31, we will be having a Halloween parade beginning at 3:10 p.m. Your kids will have a chance to get into their costumes shortly before that. Please remember that violent or bloody costumes are not allowed. Thanks so much for your cooperation. It should be a fun afternoon!

Tuesday is shaping up to be a great day too! It will be our annual WSE Fun Run and our first Positive Party! Please be sure to encourage your child in getting donations to bring on Tuesday. Also, our class voted to have scooters/bikes, swimming, electronic games, and costumes for our afternoon Positive Party, and the kids have been instructed to ask you for permission to bring those items. Your child will be expected to share if he/she does bring them, so that everyone will have a chance to enjoy the fun. :) They worked really hard to earn this reward!

That about does it for this week! Thanks for being an encouraging bunch of parents! I appreciate every effort you make in supporting your child. I look forward to talking with you at next week’s conferences.
