Friday, October 7, 2011 Good afternoon, Parents! Thanks for taking the time to read this letter and go through your child’s papers with him/her. You are definitely making an impression with the emphasis you put on education. Our ArtPrize Field Trip yesterday was a wonderful success! The weather was fantastic, and we all enjoyed the abundance and variety of artwork. Thanks again to Mrs. Hare, Mrs. Goudzward, Mrs. Jameson, Mrs. Laster, Mrs. Ouzoonian, Ms. Stahle (with Grandma!) and Mrs. Williams for volunteering to chaperone our trip. :) As you know, our
annual MEAP testing starts Tuesday. We will be doing
the reading test first, then math, and finally science. I’d like
to thank you in advance for encouraging your child in getting extra
sleep, eating healthy breakfasts, and being positive about his/her abilities
each day. The state has mandated a specific testing schedule this year,
so we won’t have as many days of testing, but those days may be
longer than in the past. Your fifth grader can plan on testing Tuesday
and Wednesday, Oct 11 & 12, as well as Tuesday and Wednesday, Oct.
18 & 19. (This is slightly different than I mentioned last week.
Oops.) We will provide a small snack for your child on test days, and
he/she is welcome to bring a water bottle those times also. With your
support, I am confident that the kids will do well, and I look forward
to having them “show what they know”! Bring on the MEAPs! That about does it for today! I hope you have a great weekend! Jennifer Loomis P.S. Look for your
child’s Midterm Progress Report in next week’s folder. |
