Dear Parents,

Good afternoon, everyone! Thank you again for attending your child’s conference last week! It was terrific to talk with you! Hopefully, with all of us working together (including your child), the remainder of the year will be an exciting success for him/her! I’m really looking forward to it!

Just as a reminder, your child’s Accelerated Reader deadline was today. The first trimester ends just before Thanksgiving, and report cards will be sent home the following week. Thank you for continuing to encourage your child with his/her progress in Fifth Grade. What a difference it makes! Keep up the good work!

Our Washington Street Student Council is set! Several people in our class made speeches and campaigned for office. Even more were nominated and ran for Class Representative. I am so proud of each of them for trying and being willing to be a positive leader! (Super job, kids!!) The results of the election are:

Elected as our Class Representative this year is Sawyer Brown, and Zach Donlin is our Alternate. Congratulations to all of the newly elected leaders! We are looking forward to an exciting and productive year of Student Council here at Washington Street!
Finally, I hope you remembered to thank veterans and service men/women you know for their service to our country. The freedoms and opportunities we enjoy are largely due to the sacrifices of those unselfish men and women. (Thank you so much if you are one of them.)
