Dear Parents,

Hi! Welcome back! It’s great to see your kids again! I missed them! I hope you had a wonderful vacation with your family. It’s been fun to hear stories of your Christmas adventures. :)

The new year is off to a great start here in LoomisLand. We’ve been comparing the colonies in social studies; jumping frogs in science; and continuing division in math. Furthermore, we’ve been gearing up for next Tuesday’s Dibels test in reading. Be sure to ask your child about his/her progress toward this trimester’s Accelerated Reader goal as well. Your child’s new Brain Pack is enclosed in today’s folder. Thanks!

One last note…I will be having a tonsillectomy next Wednesday so I will miss approximately two weeks of school. My substitute is a retired fifth grade teacher who is already familiar with our class and is looking forward to teaching them. I just wanted you to be aware that things will be a little different for the next couple of weeks. Thanks again for your support!
